The chair sits hard until you recline. It is very comfortable and I weight 425 lbs . The only negative I have which is a big issue for me is coming out of the chair from full reclined is very hard to do. It's like you have to make your low glut area push back to release something prior to pushing with feet and legs to get it down.

The Beast has been the ONLY piece of furniture that I've ever been completely comfortable in - I'm 6'4" & 325 lbs., a Big & Tall man for sure! In addition, I have back, hip & leg problems - which have improved immensely THANKS TO THE BEAST! It is sturdy, strong and very comfortable. The best thing is that it's TALLER THAN ME! I can actually rest my head (in upright & full recline) with extra chair to spare. A welcome first! LOVE MY RECLINER!
